The challenge
The challenge
The practice had 22 years of drawings sitting behind a grid of small square thumbnails. Everything that made the work worth looking at — line weight, annotation, section cuts — was invisible until you clicked through three levels.
The approach — 3 moves
What we did
- 01
Drawings are served as deep-zoom tiles, so a section can be read at full line weight on a laptop without downloading a 40MB TIFF.
- 02
The type system is set on the same drawing grid the practice uses: a 6mm base, doubled and halved. It is their convention, not one we imposed.
- 03
Project pages are ordered by how the practice talks about them — brief, site, section, detail — rather than by the CMS default of newest first.
